LPN

Shift: PRN

We are looking to employ motivated LPN's for PRN shifts. Must enjoy working with the elderly, must be quality and safety minded, must possess good communication skills and excellent attendance is a requirement. The Alternacare staff functions as a team and you will be expected to be a team player. A valid Indiana nursing license is required. CPR, if not current, can be obtained after hire. Dementia certification required, can obtain after hire.

Aide

Shift: Part-time 11:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., 32 hours per bi-weekly pay period; holidays& weekends

Experience in institutional food service preferred.  Must be able to work every other weekend and some holidays.  Opportunity for advancement.  Must also be available for call-in if needed.

Health Information Services

Transcriptionist

Shift: Full-time; 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Must possess sound knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and disease processes.  Knowledge of medical style and grammar are necessary.  Must be able to use basic office equipment/computers with above average keyboarding skills.  Knowledge and experience in transcription will be given priority.  Multiple references and procedures will be available to assist in accurate completion of dictation. 

There are expected productivity levels in a multi-specialty environment.  Ability to utilize AIDET skills in customer relations is expected.

On-Call RN

Shift: Full-time; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Registered Nurse, preferable with BSN, current Indiana license.  Home Health Care and Hospice experience and Supervisory/Management background preferred.  Must have good computer skills.  Able to work effectively with others and have leadership and teaching skills.  Must possess good communication skill.  Able to work in fast paced, ever changing environment with ability to multi task.

Volunteers provide caregiver relief and companionship, deliver medicine or assist with office work. They are an important part of our hospice team. Volunteers are needed in Kentland, Morocco, Lake Village, Roselawn, Wheatfield and Rensselaer areas. Application Specialist

Shift: Temporary; Part-time; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Special skills or qualifications needed: Must possess analytical skills, accountability, and be able to keep information confidential. Leadership and superior communication skills, both verbal and written, required. Must have experience in educational and project development situations. Required to be self-motivated and possess willingness to learn new fields. Ability to relate well and maintain rapport with Hospital staff and physicians. Meditech 6.1 experience with a patient care area/workflow required. Educational requirement of current healthcare license or bachelor degree. Occasional travel required. General experience with IT preferred.

Serves as additional resource to assist with clinical and potentially non-clinical Meditech applications and other IS areas. Works with all Information Systems Department areas to assure that a consistent approach is followed throughout the installation and maintenance of the Meditech applications. Serves as a project leader with various responsibilities for project installation and continued implementation and adjustments of recent applications and hardware. Insures testing of all software update/new releases for the Meditech applications. Leads the planning for and conducts training of Meditech. Responsible for documenting, tracking, and follow-up on all reported problems, enhancement requests, and system change requests for the Meditech applications. This position is temporary and has an anticipated duration of three to nine months. This length may be adjusted based on facility needs.

Serves as day-to-day contact person for the Hospital staff regarding Meditech applications and other IS areas.  Works with all Information Systems Department areas to assure that a consistent approach is followed throughout the installation and maintenance of the Meditech applications.  Serves as a project leader with various responsibilities for project installation and implementation of new applications and hardware.  Insures testing of all software update/new releases for the Meditech applications.  Leads the planning for and conducts training of Meditech.  Responsible for documenting, tracking, and follow-up on all reported problems, enhancement requests, and system changes requests for the Meditech applications.  Assumes on-call responsibilities of after hour support of the IS Department, responding in a timely manner.  Rotating on-call schedule.

Housekeeper

Shift: Part-time; Weekdays 5:00 - 10:00 p.m.

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. The housekeeper is responsible to maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness in daily assigned areas.  This includes, but not limited to, restrooms, showers, stairways, entrance ways, lobbies, lounges, patient rooms, treatment areas.  Performs cleaning on vertical and horizontal surfaces.  Reports any problem situation to appropriate department personnel.

Aerobic Instructor

Shift: Part-time

Aerobic activities are to be instructed as scheduled by the aerobic coordinator.  Must attend workshops for continuing education.  Update routines every 6-8 weeks.  Mandatory attendance at instructor meetings.  If unable to instruct a scheduled class, it is the aerobic instructor responsibility to arrange coverage for that class.  Will train the correct individual if necessary.

Laboratory Tech MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA, MLT, OR CLT)


Shift: Part-time; 10 hour shifts

Masters or Bachelors of Clinical Lab Science from an accredited institution.  Medical laboratory Tech, Clinical Laboratory testing, blood banking, phlebotomy procedures and basic trouble shooting.  Dexterity, eye hand coordination, color distinctions, computer skills and legible writing required.

Looking to hire an energetic RN for a busy Med/Surg unit.  Experienced preferred.  Must be a team player and possess the ability to document using a computerized format.  Excellent prior work attendance is required.  Must possess good communication skills.  Position requires routine weekend and holiday rotation.  CPR required (can obtain after hire).

Shift: Full-time; days; 10 days/biweekly pay period.

Licensed in Indiana to practice physical therapy, CPR certified; must have friendly personality and the ability to work well with others. Treatment settings include inpatient, outpatient and home health clients.
