Requires basic computer skills with on the job training to include chart review, preparation, scanning and quality control.  Attention to detail is required.  Dedication to quality patient care by maintaining and supporting an accurate medical record is essential.  Experience with Meditech 6.1 is preferable.

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. The housekeeper is responsible to maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness in daily assigned areas.  This includes, but not limited to, restrooms, showers, stairways, entrance ways, lobbies, lounges, patient rooms, treatment areas.  Performs cleaning on vertical and horizontal surfaces.  Reports any problem situation to appropriate department personnel.

Shift: Part-time

Aerobic activities are to be instructed as scheduled by the aerobic coordinator.  Must attend workshops for continuing education.  Update routines every 6-8 weeks.  Mandatory attendance at instructor meetings.  If unable to instruct a scheduled class, it is the aerobic instructor responsibility to arrange coverage for that class.  Will train the correct individual if necessary.

Pharmacist

Shift: Full-time; weekend coverage, holidays, and on-call required.

Summary: The staff pharmacist is responsible for processing drug orders and dispensing medications to patients as well as management of workflow in the pharmacy department.  The staff pharmacist is also responsible for being a drug information source for hospital personnel and patients.  The pharmacist is required to have an active pharmacist’s license in the state of Indiana.

Essential Job Functions: Entering drug orders in Meditech System, labeling, and distributing medications to Med/Surg, ICU, OP, ED, Oncology, and OR/PACU nursing units. Checking and compounding IV admixtures and checking IV orders before they are distributed by the technician on the daily IV refill cart. Filling drug orders, labeling, and dispensing medications for HHC and Hospice patients. Checking Omnicell restock lists for accuracy for technician restocks. Overseeing that adequate supplies of medications are ordered for maintenance of inventory stock. Review of patient profiles for incompatibilities, drug interactions, and allergies and review literature to answer drug information questions from nursing units and doctor’s offices.

Perform diagnostic evaluations.  Required to work in minimal supervision according to Jasper County Hospital policies and procedures.  Must be capable of independent judgment in taking appropriate actions in a timely manner.  Must have good verbal and written communication skills in combination with tact in dealing with patients/families, medical referral sources and coworkers.  Must possess good hearing, ability to climb stairs, ability to verbalize, comprehend, read, write and speak English.  Must be able to work various shifts; 4-12 hours per shift, including weekends and holidays.  Must have CPR certificate at all times.  Must be working toward becoming a registered PSG/EEG Technologist.  Prefer Registered or Certified Sleep/EEG or RT Technician.  Must possess a valid IN RT license.

PSG

Shift: Full-time; 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.

Cardiopulmonary provides direct teaching and evaluation services within their scope of practice to the patients referred to Jasper County Hospital Cardiopulmonary Services for respiratory care, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, sleep/EEG, industrial field testing, long-term care facilities and /or other high-tech equipment services.

Essential Job Functions:  Initiation and maintenance of good professional relationships with area physicians, hospitals, extended care facilities, home health agencies and any additional health care providers or lay groups in support of the Hospital’s marketing objectives. Development and delivery of clerical education to other health care providers, extended care facilities or the lay public.

Performs Respiratory Therapy Services, Cardiopulmonary Rehab, and Sleep/EEG testing or series within their scope of practice, completed competencies and per physicians orders. Must be able to manage down time appropriately, limiting personal phone calls, texting and or face-to-face encounters.  Reports to work on time and follows absenteeism policy. Must be able to exhibit professional behavior at all times.  Has ability to verbalize, comprehend, read and legibly write English.  Ability to move and function well during stress and emergency situations.  Must have an even temperament and the ability to withstand pressure while remaining calm.  Must be able to recognize that body language and /or a tone of voice are important and can be misinterpreted.  Must preserve patient confidentiality and knowledge of Jasper County Hospital practices, policies and procedures are required.
