Franciscan Health and Fitness Center

Franciscan Health and Fitness Center offers a wide variety of exercise activity and equipment for all ages. New members receive a complimentary orientation with an Exercise Specialist. The session includes instruction about workout session: using a warm-up and cool down; the proper use of equipment; and calculating your target heart rate. During the orientation, health concerns can be addressed by the Specialist.



There are many programs with which our members can become involved.

Children's Programs

Our children's programs include swim lessons, Fit Kids aerobics and Youth in Motion.


Swim Lessons

Swim lessons begin Tuesday, April 29, 2014, and are scheduled to end May 29, 2014. Course instruction will consist of ten 30-minute sessions. Cost is $25.00 for members and $50.00 for non-members. Limited enrollment available. Instructor is American Red Cross certified. For more information, including times for each session, please call KV Health Centre at (219) 956-4811.

Fitness Evaluations

Fitness Evaluations are available by appointment and for an additional fee. For the Fitness Evaluation, a member is tested in several areas by a degreed Exercise Specialist or a Certified Personal Trainer. A second meeting is arranged to discuss results of tests and a specific program recommendation is made to the member. The program is designed according to personal goals and the baseline level of fitness.

Personal Training:

Personal Training is offered throughout the year at Franciscan Health and Fitness Center to help you fulfill your fitness goals.

When you purchase a Personal Training package, you will receive a personalized evaluation which will consist of the 5 aspects of wellness, muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility and body composition. Personal Trainers are nationally certified.

Based on your goals and evaluation results, we will work with you to set up a program designed specifically for you and your needs.

  • Personalized Workout Program: $70 - Evaluation and workout designed for you!

  • 10 Session Program: $250 - 1 Fitness Eval, 9/1 hour personalized workouts & 1 body fat analysis. Must be member. Prices effective 10/24/2011.

Motivational Membership Games:

Motivational membership games are offered throughout the year to encourage continued physical activity. Prizes are offered as part of the games.



We will accommodate groups of all kinds who wish to use the facility including schools. Please contact us for details on group usage.


Group Exercise Classes:

Several exercise classes are offered at Franciscan Health and Fitness Center, including those listed below.

  • Boot Camp- A boot-camp style cardio & strength class that will have you moving and sweating. Expect the unexpected. Lots of variety; Lots of fun!
  • Cardio Interval- Cardio intervals of resistance and weights, followed by abs, this is a full body workout.
  • Fit Kids- This class will consist of a structured fitness program designed for kids. The kids will be involved in relays, games, jump rope, basic kickboxing, and step aerobics along with a lot of fun!
  • Hardbodies - Strengthen your body from head to toe in this total body sculpting class.
  • Kickboxing - This one hour cardio class will have you kicking and jabbing your way through a fun full body workout.
  • Lift It-  This highly efficient, full-body workout utilizes hand weights to strengthen and sculpt all muscle groups, while using heavier weights with fewer reps of 2-3 sets. Class will be completed with a 10 minute yoga cool-down.
  • Light & Lively - This low impact class will get you up and moving.  Class includes aerobics and strength training on the ball.
  • Quick Step - Fun combinations and choreography will keep you moving in this advanced step class! 
  • T-N-T Tight and Tone - Strengthen your body from head to toe in this total body sculpting class.
  • Trekking - A 30 minute treadmill class to train both walkers and runners.  Instruction involves using speed and hill grade to vary intensities.  *Limited spots are available, so sign up at the front desk. Personal music head phones are not permitted on treadmills during class.
  • Triple Threat-  This class combines cardio, strength training and core work.  It is designed to help you get the most out of your workout in the least amount of time.
  • Turbo Kick – A unique blend of kicking, dance, intervals & endurance training. Turbo is for everyone – high intensity if you like, low intensity on days you need to take it easy. Routines change monthly to keep your muscles challenged.
  • Water Aerobics- Work your entire body with low impact aerobics in the water.  From high intensity heart pumping cardio, to stretching and flexibility; this class offers something for everyone.
  • Watercize - Work your entire body with low impact aerobics in the water.  From high intensity heart pumping cardio, to stretching and flexibility; this class offers something for everyone.
  • Yoga – Relax and Tone after a long hard day. Yoga moves will help your flexibility, toning and relieve the stress of the day
  • Yoga Flow-   This sweat inducing class ties breath to movement between individual postures.  Focus will be on strengthening, lengthening, and stretching through a creative series of postures in constant motion. 
  • Yoga Fusion- The best of both Yoga and functional stretching.  This class will focus on improving flexibility, increasing balance and strengthening core muscles.

If you have specific questions about aerobics classes, please call (219) 956-4811. Everyone who attends an aerobics class becomes registered for a drawing to win all sorts of prizes. Drawings are held monthly.

Child Care

Child Care is offered as a convenience to our members. Child care is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m..; and Monday through Thursday from 4:15 - 8:00 p.m. Cost is $2.00 for the first child and $1.00 for each additional child. Two-hour time limit per visit.

January - March, the center is open on Sundays from 1-5 pm.


Guests are Welcome!

The first visit for those who have never been here is FREE! Guests who have been to the center before, can pay a $5 guest fee if they come in with a current member. Guests may also purchase a $25 punch card good for 6 daily fees. We will punch it everytime they come in. There is no expiration date for the card.
