Speech Therapy involves the rehabilitation of speech, language, cognitive and swallowing skills, which may deteriorate as a result of stroke, Parkinson's Disease, other neurological disorders, head trauma and cancer. When a developmental delay or medical issue is involved, speech therapy helps children acquire age-appropriate speech, language, and swallowing skills as well.
Jasper County Hospital's Speech-Language Pathologists work with a variety of patient populations including early intervention through the First Steps program, school age pediatrics, hospital in-patients, outpatients, long-term care patients, and home health clients. A full range of Speech Therapy Services is now offered at Jasper County Hospital and KV Health Centre.
